Innovative and Effective Rehabilitation Services
Our rehabilitation services comprise a fully integrated range of therapeutic programs developed by a team of interdisciplinary healthcare professionals who work together to meet the complex needs of each resident. The ultimate goal shared by residents and rehabilitation professionals alike is to promote self-care and independence. Our staff works hard to help residents develop the skills they need to achieve the highest possible quality of life...and to return home.
Physical Therapy
Based on individual evaluations of each resident, physical therapists develop programs specifically designed to help each person reach his or her highest potential level of functioning. Exercises and modalities used include heat and stimulation which help decrease pain and expand movement capabilities.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists help residents relearn skills associated with activities of daily living (ADLs). To help restore function, these specialists take residents through exercise and retraining and provide help with assistive devices that facilitate their ability to bathe, dress, manage household tasks and participate in leisure activities. Family and staff education are integral parts of the occupational therapy program.
Speech Therapy
Speech Therapists evaluate each resident's ability to speak, hear, learn and eat. The therapist then works with the staff, family and resident's physician to develop and carry out an effective treatement program.
Respiratory Therapy
In order to help restore maximum breathing capability, a variety of therapies are used, from aerosol and humidification treatments to a wide range of exercises to strengthen the respiratory system.
Restorative Nursing Therapy
Restorative nursing therapies include many activities designed to help residents maximize their ability to care for themselves and lead as independent a lifestyle as possible. The goal is to identify each resident's strengths and performance level.
Low Level Laser Therapy (3LT)
All facilities offer Low Level Laser Therapy (3LT), a form of technology that provides new treatment options for conditions including pain, swelling, and wounds. The Erchonia PL5000 is FDA approved for the treatment and management of pain, inflammation, and wound healing. It is a form of photonic energy which involves the application of low power light to injuries and lesions to stimulate healing. The light stimulates the mitochondria to increase its production of ATP (adenosine trisphosphate). It is an excellent tool to address the complex needs of again adults, is non-evasive, and has no known side effects.
Outcomes have demonstrated that pain relief gained through laser therapy, especially with patients who have recently undergone some form of orthopedic surgery, helps to reduce their dependency on, and request for, pain medications.
3LT facilitates an increase in the speed, quality, and tensile strength of tissue repair, reducing inflammation, and increasing range of motion. Laser Therapy is a major advancement in healing and is used for acute and chronic injuries, pain management, neurological impairment, wound healing, and facilitating the healing process in disease conditions. It is a very effective option when other treament modalities or interventions have failed.
Our therapists undergo advanced training in the application of laser therapy with the geriatric population, and are knowledgeable in the implementation of protocols for the treatment of a variety of dysfunctions and disorders.
"After only a 10 day stay, I was able to return back home on my own. Being a retired nurse myself, I found the nursing staff and therapists to be very helpful and encouraging during my recovery."
